Why We Chose a Triangle: The Story Behind the Integral Brand

When we started thinking about the Integral brand, we knew we didn’t just want a logo that looked good.

We wanted it to mean something.

We wanted people to look at our logo and see more than a company name or a simple shape. We wanted our brand to represent what Integral Network Solutions is built on and, more importantly, what we believe it takes to create reliable, high-performing data cabling and network infrastructure.

That’s where the triangle came in. 🔺

At first glance, it might just look like a strong, simple design.

But the more we thought about it, the more we realised that a triangle was the perfect symbol for Integral.

Because a triangle has three sides.

And in our world, we believe there are three essential things needed to create reliable, high-performing network infrastructure:

Standards. Cables & Components. Testing.

The First Side: Standards

Everything has to start with standards.

When it comes to structured cabling and network infrastructure, following recognised industry standards is fundamental.

You can have the best-looking installation in the world, but if it hasn’t been designed and installed correctly, problems can quickly start to appear.

Standards provide the foundation.

They help ensure that a network is not simply installed to work today, but is designed and installed correctly to deliver reliable performance and support the future needs of a business.

For us, doing things properly isn’t an optional extra.

It is the first side of the triangle.

The Second Side: Cables & Components

Then comes the equipment itself.

The cables.

The connectors.

The outlets.

The patch panels.

The components behind the scenes.

Much of this work disappears behind walls, above ceilings and inside communications cabinets, but that doesn’t make it any less important.

In fact, it makes getting it right even more important.

The quality and compatibility of the cables and components used within a network can have a significant impact on its performance and reliability.

Whether you're installing Cat6 or Cat6A cabling, choosing the right cable and compatible components is an important part of building a reliable network.

And for larger sites, longer distances or high-bandwidth requirements, fibre optic cabling can also play an important role in network infrastructure.

You wouldn’t build a strong structure using poor-quality materials.

And you shouldn’t build a network that way either.

That became the second side of our triangle.

The Third Side: Testing

Then comes the part that proves everything has worked.

Testing.

Because how do you know a cable installation will perform as expected unless you test it?

A cable can look perfectly installed.

The cabinet can look neat.

Everything can appear to be in the right place.

But appearances don’t guarantee performance.

Testing does.

Our network testing provides evidence that the installed cabling is performing within the required parameters.

At Integral, we don’t believe in simply saying that a network works.

We want to prove it.

Professional testing provides valuable evidence about the performance of the installed cabling, while documentation provides the customer with a record of what has been installed and tested.

That is why testing became the third side of our triangle.

And Suddenly, It All Came Together

Standards.

Cables & Components.

Testing.

Three essential elements.

Three sides of a triangle.

But then we noticed something else.

Something that made the triangle feel even more right for Integral.

The word TRIANGLE can be created using letters from INTEGRAL.

That connection was important to us.

Our company name and the symbol we had chosen were connected.

And not just visually.

The triangle represented exactly what Integral stands for.

A complete approach to network infrastructure.

Because just like a triangle needs all three sides to be complete, we believe reliable network performance requires all three elements working together.

Remove the standards, and there is no proper framework.

Use poor-quality or unsuitable cables and components, and the foundation is compromised.

Remove testing, and there is no evidence to prove how the installation is performing.

Take away one side, and the triangle is no longer complete.

More Than a Shape

That is why we chose a triangle.

It isn’t just part of our logo.

It is a reminder of the principles behind every network we design, install and test.
